Indoor Cricket 8-aside
A sport popular with players of all ages, Indoor Cricket has grown over the years to become one of Australia’s most popular ways to meet people, exercise and have fun! This is a fast, action-packed game involving all the skills of the outdoor game but played in the nets, which speeds everything up. No wet weather cancellations as games are played indoors and out of the summer sun. Run over two seasons – September to March is our Summer Season and March to September is our Winter Season.

Captains please note:
- We play on most public holidays however we will close for two weeks over the Christmas period.
- It is the captains’ responsibility to ensure game fees are paid & are up to date.
- It is only the captain who can approach an umpire for clarification of a rule or call; this is to be done at an appropriate time during the game. No abuse towards umpires, staff or other players will be tolerated.
- All forfeits attract a forfeit fee.
Forefits
- Teams who let us know before the draw is done, incur no forfeit fee.
- Teams who forfeit 4-6 days before their game incur a half fee of $50.
- Teams who forfeit 3-1 day before their game incur a full fee of $100.
- Teams who forfeit on the day incur a double fee of $200.
The Basics of Indoor Cricket
- 8 players per team
- Teams may still take the court with a minimum of 6 players, though their opponents get to choose which player(s) bat and bowl in the missing players place
- Each innings consists of 16 x 6 ball overs, with every player bowling 2 overs and each batting pair facing 4 overs
- Batsmen score runs by running between wickets but also gain bonus runs of between 1 and 6 for hitting certain nets
- When a batsman is 'out' he loses 5 runs from his score but remains in bat
- Teams also earn bonus ladder points or 'skins' by winning each corresponding batting partnership (i.e. 1st pair of Team A versus 1st pair of Team B, etc)
- The only equipment players need is a bat, gloves and protector and all of these can be either purchased or borrowed from Bundaberg Indoor Sports Centre (See further down)
- Matches last approximately 1 hr 15 minutes (30 - 35 minutes/innings)
Uniforms
Here at Bundaberg Indoor Sports Centre, we do not enforce strict uniform policy. Therefor all indoor cricket players are free to wear any sporting clothing that they choose. Please note though that Bundaberg Indoor Sports Centre also hands out an award for best dressed team at the end of the season.

Season Format: 21 Weeks of Competition
All teams play a 21 week regular season not including semi finals and finals.
Please note: Each season commences immediately after the previous one. Finals are broken down over two weeks of Preliminary and Semifinals before our Final Day for each Grade. Both Divisions will be broken down into Grades for Finals.
Match Fees Pay Per Season: Pay Upfront and Save!
Teams have the option of paying for the entire season up-front rather than paying each week.
Teams who choose this option receive a 10% discount on the total season’s fees and you will never
need to worry about collecting fees from your team mates.
From the new season, we will be using Burley Low Impact Cricket Balls. Burley is the ONLY Indoor Ball officially endorsed by Cricket Australia! Burley Super Soft is also officially endorsed by the World Indoor Cricket Federation for use in International Matches, as well as all National League Matches in Australia. (Green/Red Stitch)

Available Equipment and Equipment to Buy
Most equipment is supplied however there are some items that we do not cover, these include male box protectors. All bats, indoor balls, keepers gloves are supplied however we encourage you to purchase your own items or team items that we can store on site. We are currently stocking SMG Branded items and can get your required interest item in if needed.
